Description
Possible advertisement "to the Editor" for a school for Carvill's daughter, Ruth Martin Carvill, using pseudonym "Nettle" for the enquirer (probably Elizabeth, wife of John Carvill). The note says that the daughter is an only child of 15 years, rather backward and not robust, who shows a talent for drawing and painting that should be cultivated. Nettle is ignorant of the cost of such schools and the routines and companions she'd be with. The school should be "a suitable school, Church of England, in the country and in the neighborhood of London preferred". Carvill, Downshire Road, Newry, Co Down, "Nettle School"
