Description
All yesterday morning Mother and I darned stockings and mended clothes. In the afternoon we both rode up a very hilly road to visit a lady called Mrs Hughes for the first time. She and her husband are very nice. They have a dear little house on the other side of Carlingford up the road that leads to Dundalk. We road up the hill most of the way and their house is at the highest point of the road looking over the whole lough. After our visit there we went on down the Dundalk sound by a place called Whitestones a tiny little village, near the open sea.
