Description
In Ruth Martin Carvill's journal entry dated 20 Aug 1902., she writes about waking to rain and hail and wind. She darned in her mother-s room because the Gartlans, Glennies, and Gordons were coming to spend the afternoon with Miss Moore. After lunch Eveleen, Irene and Nora Glenny came to visit Ruth. Her mother wouldn-t let her bathe after lunch. She watched the others bathe, played games, rode down to Omeath, and after supper walked and painted until bed. "We have a plague of earwigs here. They seem to get into everything and on everything.' Drawings on opposite pages: Opposite page 2 - a drawing by Ruth of her home, Foye.
