Description
In Ruth Martin Carvill's journal entry dated 25 Aug 1902., she indicates that her Mother has a bad toothache and swollen face. She went to Newry to the dentist, Mr. G Connor. He made an impression of her teeth as they are too crowded. Afterwards she bought cakes for her Mother-s party the next day, and met Finnie. In the garden eating pears and picking flowers for Foye until her Father came and they picnicked. Finnie and John Kelly played tennis until the Gartlan-s arrived with tea and other tennis players. Miss Rutherford is mentioned, as well as "queer characters' at the train, including two girls in Ruth-s carriage with umbrellas full of sweets and biscuits! She rode home from the train on her bicycle and arranged flowers with her Mother before bed. No drawings accompany this entry.
