Description
Ruth Martin Carvill, 5th paragraph: Laments her fear at uncivilized savage captors in a gloomy chamber swung a sword overhead "torturing me cruelly", upon which she fainted. 6th & 7th paragraphs: Description of two school girls - one typical (giggling and silly), the other goes her own way not paying attention to the silly companion "because she is too stupid." Ruth classifies them as intelligent and clever. Teacher critique of sentence structure, grade of 3, and admonition to "get a label".
