    This letter is another letters from John Carvill to a Mr. T. Callan Macardle, Esq, Dundalk.   In later letters it is clearer that the subject of this "private" letter is the state of affairs of the Carvill's daughter, Ruth Martin Carvill Crossle, who was having an affair.   [Her husband, Philip Crossle, filed for divorce in Jan 1918 and it was finalized by the courts in Jan 1920.] Later letters indicate that Philip Crossle was intending at that point to move to Canada [that did not happen.] This letter has a note at the top "The envelope in which this was enclosed was marked Private and addressed to him at St. Margarets, Dundalk.
